USGS Soil Web Survey

Web Soil Survey (WSS) provides soil data and information produced by the National Cooperative Soil Survey. You can use this resource to identify the soil order and series on your farm, along with information about the dynamic and inherant physical, chemical and biological properties of your soil. To start, define an “Area of Interest” (AOI) by entering your address or coordinates and look up your soil order and series.

The WSS is operated by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and provides access to the largest natural resource information system in the world. You can access this resource directly by visiting the USDA NRCS Web Soil Survey.
